FOLLOWERS TRACK – Maria

Acceptance, celebration and curiosity in oneself and others as a guide to work in this art form. Sharing with your colleagues as an important part of your artistic practice. Development of rhythmic sensitivity, your ‘voice’ in balance with the different voices.

Find your way to anchor your dancing in the fundamentals of African-American values, to be able to develop then your own style in accordance with its values.

*We do not conduct audition to groups during the festival. This means that you have to choose your own dance level by yourself. Please make thoughtful decisions, in accordance with the descriptions below 🙂 Classes are not intended for beginners.

Confetti

Lindy Hop

You have been dancing lindy hop for at least two years. Popular Lindy Hop’s repertoire You can dance to both slow and fast music, but you also have some of your favorite more advanced transitions in the pocket. You can easily dance swingouts at any time of the dance and you can do several of them in a row even to fast music. You improvise in dance and you know some variations on the basic steps. Charleston basics are not a challenge for you and you increasingly trying more advanced transitions.

Lindy Hop

You have been dancing for a long time so during the dance you don’t have to think about steps anymore, you just dance them 🙂 Now you pay more and more attention to the quality, accuracy and appearance of your dance and to the connection with a partner. Slow („Bluesy”) or very fast music is not a big challenge for you, because you feel comfortable in a close connection, you can easily dance Charleston including „Break away” and other advanced steps and you love fast swingouts :). There is dozens of Lindy Hop events and workshops behind you, also international ones where you are most often qualified to advanced and higher groups.

Solo Jazz

You have been dancing solo jazz for two years and more. You are familiar with the basic steps of Solo Jazz and the simple variations based on them. You dance Shim Sham without any problems, you know or at least you have studied in the past 😀 another popular Solo Jazz choreography. You start to improvise and have your own ideas in your solo dance.

Solo Jazz

Solo jazz is your old, good friend 😀 – you can not only dance many less or more advanced authentic jazz steps, but also play with their style, rhythm and combine them yourself. You are not afraid of improvising in solo dance even if someone is watching :D. You are very aware of your body and you try to improve it continuously during the classes, workshops (local and international) and by practicing alone.
